A thought I had yesterday:

“The only way for me to loose in life is to leave this planet without it remembering me.”
Living with this in mind makes exams, games and any other losses completely insignificant!

Getting back to the purpose of this blog - some more ideas in rhetorical format:

  • I might be mistaken, but is there an open application stack for citizens to notify city councils or other administrations of any damages, inefficiencies, dangers, accidents etc. public places?
  • With all the search applications in place, I wonder why I still can’t find the cheapest, instantly available shopping item in my configuration without manually searching through several stores.
  • Anecdote: My Munich-regional puplic transportation app automatically corrects the trains times for the time it takes me to get to the station, but only once it has recognized my location —> one day I am 15 mins early, the next day I miss the train. Similarly, I have noticed the myriad of assumptions about user knowledge, behaviour and demographics which many Human Computer Interfaces entail. I would say, tweaking these assumptions before launching new technologies, should play a larger role in development.
  • Think about how much valuable time could be saved if dynamic analysis of search behaviour, application usage and content exchange was actually used to suggest more effective tools, better discounts, more informative blogs and better-suited apps to the user.
And lastly, go read “Thinking, Fast and Slow” - it will change the way you think about the way you think!

Why do most humans loose sight of this?
